He Gave....I give?by David Baird on 06/26/13
We all know it. There is really nothing new about what I'm about to say - relationships are important.
God knew it first. He told us all when He gave His two greatest commandments - Love God - Love others, i.e., relationships are important.
Throughout His Word (God's love letters to you and me), "relationships" are highlighted: 1) our spiritual gifts are given for the common good; 2) we are encouraged to never forsake the gathering of the fellowship of believers; 3) we are urged to enjoy the breaking of bread often with one another. Relationships are important.
Christ demonstrated how important relationships were to the Father by spending quality, intimate time with His disciples. Just think about the last supper - Jesus served them and washed their feet; He broke bread with each one; He shared His last time with them; He prayed with them.
God proved once and for all just how important our relationships where to Him as our Heavenly Father - He showed us the depth of His love relationship - For God so loved the World...He Gave!
For God so loved you and me....He Gave...His Word to express His love to us.
For God so loved you and me....He Gave...His church to encourage us.
For God so loved you and me....He Gave...Himself in the Holy Spirit to be with us.
For God so loved you and me....He Gave...His one and only Son to die for us.
God, the Father, and Christ, the Son, what a love relationship with us. Looked at all that has been given to prove it!
Now, in return, what will you give?
For I so love you Lord, I give...my time, my effort, my energy, my best.
For I so love you Lord, I give...my affection, my faithfulness, my loyalty.
For I so love you Lord, I give...my devotion, my resources, my stuff, my life.
For I so love my Lord & Savior, I give....
